SACC Announces #SmyrnaGaRocks Donation Drive

SACC Board Member Leah Pringle Barnes founded #SmyrnaGaRocks, a group with a simple goal: to spread art, joy, fun and kindness around Smyrna by painting and hiding rocks for others to find. Based on the national Kindness Rocks Project, she launched #SmyrnaGaRocks in June of this year, and it has already grown to over 1,000 local members.

The idea is simple. Paint rocks bright colors or with short messages on them and tag the rock with #SmyrnaGARocks and hide them – preferably in plain sight – so that people find them. The person who finds the rock can take a photo of it or a selfie with the rock and post it to the Facebook #SmyrnaGARocks page. Then replace the rock with one you’ve painted or re-hide the rock you found.

The Smyrna Arts & Cultural Council is now sponsoring this fun art program for kids, families and adults alike. We plan on year round activities that your donation will fund to ensure the program remains FREE.

The Smyrna Arts & Cultural Council is an IRS 501(c)(3) approved, nonprofit Georgia corporation. Donations are tax-deductible. All work is performed by volunteers and we have no paid management staff.
