Phase One Milestone of Jonquil City Historical Trail Completed

We are happy to announce that we completed the first major milestone of our Jonquil City Historical Trail project. 60 historic locations along Atlanta Road from Windy Hill Road to Brawner Hall have been cataloged, described and mapped. We have also obtained historic photos of each location.

Our next milestone is to program this information into Google Maps and create a walking tour for Apple and Android phones as well as tablets. The walking tour will guide you from location to location and present a narrative with 1 or more photos of each historic site. Historic sites that have been lost to time will be represented by photos at what is believed to be the accurate former location. In 2016 we want to pursue a grant to begin installing permanent markers on the walking tour.
